You feel the rush of your heart quicken. Worrying thoughts stir in your mind, something unsettling is about to happen.
You mind no attention to control it as it unfolds before your eyes. Too late, you’re there -again- overwhelmed and stuck.
Yet as Christians we are told to not be anxious for anything.
Let’s discuss what are the best essential oils for anxiety so we can have the peace and joy the Lord speaks of. But before that, here is how anxiety showed up in my life.
Anxiety for me was being a student in college and during a test-taking time. Being a mother to three boys has also brought its bought of anxiousness. My pattern was the continuing thoughts that would pan in and out of my mind- worry, doubt, incapable.
Anxiousness never sent me over the top, but, caused enough uneasiness for me to take action.
Let’s take a brief look at anxiety, what it is and how it affects our body.
What Is Anxiety?
Let’s start with what is anxiety. Anxiety is pervasive. It afflicts male and female, young and mature, having no borders to race or ethnicity. There are various types of anxiety, some types being more disfavorable than the other.
5 types of Anxiety:
- Panic Disorders
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD)
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder
- Social Phobia
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders (OCD)
There are varying degrees of symptoms. Here are some common ones.
- Increase in breathing and heart rate
- Tension in the muscles
- Pupil dilation
- Unusual increase in perspiration
- Increase in blood pressure
Having ruminating thoughts can also bring on head tension and stomach issues as well. It is also worth mentioning that worry and fear also elicit the same responses and symptoms.
How To Combat Anxiety?
Philippians 4:6, Paul gives us the solution on how to combat anxiety. It says to not be anxious about anything and every situation, we pray and present our requests to God. I do want to point out this includes turning over the feelings of fear and worry too.
I like to take natural approaches when it comes to using, offering and coaching solutions. Using the Word of God is the first go-to for combat. Reading and knowing God’s word, truth, and promises are to be our first line of defense. One great thing when we use this weapon is the no side-effects, only side-benefits.
Another natural approach I love sharing and teaching about are essential oils. Oils help restore peace mentally, emotionally and physically. Prayer and essential oils paired together work effectively and rapidly, making great combat tools.
See how these two approaches are achieved in the 5-Steps That You Can Do Now To Overcome Anxiety And Have More Peace In Your Day.

What Does The Bible Say About Anxiety?
We already saw from Paul that we are not to be anxious (Php 4:6 NIV) or worry (NLT) about anything.
The bible version you read will vary in specific verbiage. We see that anxious (NIV) is interchangeable with worry in the NLT.
The enemy’s plan is the same whether it be anxiousness, worry, or even fear.
His plan is to dismantle our peace, steal our joy, and kill our health.
Our physical body -the temple of the Holy Spirit- can become riddled with various ailments if we do not control and protect it.
Ultimately this begins in the mind.
We cancel and protect our mind from the enemy’s ill intent by reading and memorizing God’s truth. Through the act of thanksgiving, prayer, and petition gives us God’s peace that covers and guards our heart (v:7). This also guards our physical health too. Protecting us against palpitations, high blood pressure, and other potentially harmful effects.
Bible Scripture For Anxiety
You combat anxiety with the truth. When the unsettling feelings begin to creep in, this is where you stomp them out. With these few verses, begin to memorize them and when a negative feeling comes upon you recite the verse and believe its truth.
“If you are having a consistent problem in an area, study the Word of God in that area.”
Joyce Meyer
Philippian 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Colossian 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
